- Creation of sustained training and job opportunities throughout the Northern Territory via overall Government infrastructure program.
- Preparation of cabinet submissions, budget submissions and advice to Government.
Key Initiatives and Achievements included:
- Delivery of record levels of Capital Works Program and number of infrastructure projects in 2008-09 and projected 2009-10.
- Delivery of Australian Government Stimulus Package projects in conjunction with other Departments.
- Introduction of Alliance and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contracting/procurement methodologies to the Northern Territory.
- Development of draft 10 year infrastructure strategy for the Northern Territory in conjunction with other Departments.
- Development and implementation of new Asset Management System for whole of Northern Territory Government.
- Significant input to the development and management of the Northern Territory Government's four year rolling capital works program.
- Conduct of regular contractor forums to share information with construction industry.
- Development of scholarship, trainee and staff development programs in conjunction with Charles Darwin University and training providers.
- Development of resource sharing schemes with Local Government throughout the Northern Territory.
- Creation of Indigenous employment opportunities throughout the Northern Territory.
- Commercialisation of an Integrated Land Information System with private sector partner.
