My Career So Far
I am a highly experienced Chief Executive and Project Manager with extensive networks across Local, Territory, State and Commonwealth Government and a very strong knowledge of project management, transport, infrastructure development and delivery, planning and environment approval processes.
The positions I have held since 1996 are as follows:
2010-Present | Project Director | National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Project Office |
2009 - 2010 | Chief Executive Officer | Department of Construction and Infrastructure, Northern Territory Government |
2007 - 2009 | Chief Executive Officer | Department of Planning and Infrastructure, Northern Territory Government |
2004 - 2007 | Chief Executive Officer | Ballarat City Council, VIC Australia |
2001 - 2004 | Chief Executive Officer | Latrobe City Council, VIC Australia |
1996 - 2001 | GM Corporate Services | Maroochy Shire Council, QLD Australia |
Manager Business Support | Sydney City Council, NSW Australia | |
Manager Competitive Tendering | Hobsons Bay Council, VIC Australia |
My time in New South Wales was at the Sydney City Council in the period immediately prior to the Sydney Olympics in 2000. I was responsible for the implementation of non-compulsory competitive tendering that realised significant operating expenditure reductions, service delivery performance improvements and improved industrial agreements. This experience was effectively translated into the Councils and other organisations in which I later worked.
Prior to 1996, I worked in the electricity industry predominantly in regional financial management roles and also worked as a Account Management Executive as the electricity market deregulated. I also worked as a Management Consultant in the early 1990s.
In the late 1980s I was awarded a scholarship by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria to complete my Bachelor of Business at Monash University on a full time salaried basis. This was awarded via a competitive state wide process.
